Disclaimer: this review is for the Fiesta de Reyes market in general. A lot of reviews on this page seem to mention a specific eatery but I did some research and the entire marketplace is called Fiesta de Reyes so I'm landing my review here.
During my San Diego trip one of my friends suggested we explore Old Town. While I was initially a little confused as to exactly what it was, I soon learned that it's the first settled area of not only the city of San Diego, but of California State as well. As such, the area is rich in history and has an old-feel aesthetic. While there are many facets to the neighborhood, we decided to explore Fiesta de Reyes.
Fiesta de Reyes is one of the main dining and shopping marketplaces in Old Town. The size makes it perfect to spend a decent amount of time exploring - it's not too small but also not overwhelming. Walking around, there are a number of places to explore. Lots of souvenir shops selling both San Diego and Mexican items, plus a number of eateries.
My favorite spots in the marketplace had to be the chocolate shop and the tile shop. I'm a fan of chocolate in most forms, and the tile shop had beautiful hand-painted decor. They also had this shop with lots of wood carvings where I picked up a nice Christmas ornament for my parents.
Overall, it was really fun exploring Fiesta de Reyes. I would totally return not only to explore more of the shops, but Old Town as a whole. It's definitely worth checking out. -

The guacamole was salty, the molcajete had rubbery cactus, the salsa was sour, tortilla was raw, the meat was dry, the cheese was overly toasted, this meal was a waste of money! My friends food was also really bad! Do not eat here!
The service was fast and they were super nice. So.sad the food is bad! -

NO TACO TUESDAY
Such an awesome venue: dancing, olive oil shops, friendly staff, delicious authentic eats... but NO TACO TUESDAY.
Alright, actually I'm convinced of 5 stars now, I just want people searching to know there is NO TACO TUESDAY, nor birthday specials.
** Also there's a lady handing out tasters of roasted nuts when you walk in. I'm such a glutton for roasted nuts. -

Eddie was pretty cool, and helpful. We haven't been here in a long time so it was good to get a parking spot, and a seat, on a Saturday night, in less than 10 mins.

Context: Parking lot was full, but we got lucky with a spot on a Saturday Night - maybe come a but early.
Food & Drink: I order the churros and Empanadas (both delicious and emps were spicy - yum) We had some beers and a Large Margarita - both great!
Luckily, the places I went too take card because I was out of cash.
Other: The ambiance if this place was amazing! The music, the food, the people. There are a lot of variables at play so I can see how peoples experiences can impact reviews, but this place was a unique and fantastic experience! I can't wait to come back here and have a blast!
